Conceptual Design

The conceptual design phase is a critical stage where the project's foundational ideas take shape. It commences with thorough client consultations, site assessments, and extensive research for inspiration. Our team develops a core design concept that guides the entire project, considering the client's needs, site characteristics, and spatial organization.

Preliminary sketches and rough space plans help visualize the concept. Continuous client collaboration refines the concept, leading to a formal presentation for approval. This phase serves as the creative compass for subsequent project stages, ensuring the design aligns with the client's vision and budget constraints.

Design Development

The design development stage represents a pivotal progression in our design process, following the conceptual design phase. During this stage, we work collaboratively to refine the design concept into a comprehensive and detailed plan/plans. This includes the creation of precise drawings, specifications, and more advanced 3D Modelling and renderings that encompass the project's architectural and interior elements.

Material and finish selections are further refined, and technical considerations such as structural, mechanical, and electrical systems are integrated into the design. The design development phase ensures that the design concept is fully fleshed out, aligns with building codes and regulations, and is ready for further refinement in the construction documentation phase as well as being equipped for local municipality submissions that follow this step in bringing the project one step closer to realization.

Council Submission Drawings

The council submission drawing phase is a crucial step in the design process, where detailed drawings and documentation is prepared for submission to local authorities and regulatory bodies with the relevant calculations and sign off. This phase is subject to the specific regulations and laws of the country or region where the project is located. It includes the creation of comprehensive sets of drawings, specifications, and documentation that demonstrate compliance with local building codes, zoning regulations, and other legal requirements.

These submissions must be meticulously prepared and tailored to the unique jurisdictional requirements of the project site, ensuring that all necessary approvals and permits are obtained before construction can commence. The sign-off, therefore, is country and law-dependent.

Construction Documentation

The construction documentation and drawing phase for my company as an architect and interior designer encompass the meticulous creation of comprehensive plans, drawings, and specifications that serve as the blueprint for the project's construction or implementation. This phase involves the detailed documentation of all design elements, including architectural and interior components, structural requirements, electrical and mechanical systems, materials, and finishes.

The produced drawings and documents provide a precise guide for contractors and builders, ensuring that the design vision is faithfully executed. The thoroughness of this documentation is crucial in achieving the desired outcome, making it an indispensable stage for translating creative design concepts into tangible, buildable structures.

Supplier and Contractor Selection, Sourcing and Management

The step of supplier and contractor selection, sourcing, and management is a crucial phase in ensuring precise execution of the developed design from the previous stages. It involves the meticulous identification and evaluation of potential suppliers and contractors best suited for the job as we work with many professionals in the industry.

We therefore assist in the Careful selection of contractors and third party professionals to ensure that they align with the project's quality requirements, goals and timeline and ensuring that the final result can meet the project's standards and the client's expectations.

Project Management and Oversight

Project management and oversight are pivotal steps in the architectural and interior design process, encompassing the meticulous coordination and supervision of all project elements. This phase involves the day-to-day management of design development, procurement, construction, and implementation, ensuring that the project adheres to the established timeline, budget, and quality standards.

We act as the principal agents - liaising with contractors, suppliers, and any other stakeholders to address any issues, changes, or unforeseen challenges that may arise during the project's execution. This step requires effective communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, as well as a keen eye for detail to ensure that the final result aligns with the design concept and the client's vision, bringing the project to fruition successfully.

Interior Design Development

The interior design development stage marks a crucial phase in an interior based project, focusing on the intricate crafting of interior spaces in alignment with the client's preferences and the project's vision. During this stage, we refine a design concept, select materials and furnishings, and create detailed 3D renderings or proposals (output is client and project specific). These visualizations vividly convey the proposed interior design, offering the client a tangible representation of the final outcome.

We combine artistic flair with technical precision, ensuring that every element, from colour palettes to furniture sizing and blend, harmoniously reflects the envisioned aesthetic. This phase culminates in a comprehensive interior design plan that guides the subsequent stages of implementation, resulting in a space that authentically embodies the client's desires and the our creative expertise.

Furniture and Fixture Procurement

Furniture and fixture procurement is a pivotal step in our process, encompassing the selection, sourcing, and acquisition of furnishings and fixtures that are integral to the project's design. This phase involves identifying, evaluating, and choosing the most suitable pieces, considering factors like aesthetics, functionality, quality, and budget constraints- all based on the design proposal given to the client in the previous stage for approval.

We skillfully communicate with suppliers and vendors, ensuring that the selected furniture and fixtures align with the overall design concept and meet the client's expectations. The process culminates in the procurement of these essential elements, contributing to the transformation of interior spaces and the realization of the design vision, resulting in a harmonious and well-appointed environment that reflects the client's style and preferences.

Installation and Styling

The installation and styling phase, while an integral part of our design, can be subject to feasibility based on factors such as project locations, travel costs, and client preferences. This step involves the hands-on process of setting up and arranging the selected furnishings, fixtures, and decor within the designed space. We meticulously attend to every detail, ensuring that the layout, placement, and styling align with the project's vision and the client's desired ambiance.

While this phase is not always possible for every project due to varying logistics and client requirements, when undertaken, it adds the final layer of finesse to the design, transforming the space into a fully realized and captivating environment, where aesthetics, comfort, and functionality seamlessly blend to create a harmonious and inviting setting.

Final Inspections

The final inspection stage involves a meticulous review and evaluation of the completed project to ensure that it aligns with the approved design, quality standards, and building codes. This phase encompasses comprehensive walkthroughs and assessments of the architectural and interior elements, addressing any deficiencies, fine-tuning details, and ensuring that the client's expectations are met.

However, it's important to note that this phase is not always possible for every project, as it depends on factors such as project location, logistics, and client requirements. When feasible, it culminates in the formal acceptance and handover of the project to the client, marking the successful realization of the design vision and the transition to the operational phase.
